Making a Face

In only the third class I learnt how to make a face. Mr. Muntwyler showed me that there was a youtube site with directions to make a basic face like the one I made on the left. I followed the directions and made the basic face. Then I tried to make the face more complex like some of the ones you see on TV shows. I made the face you see on the right. It was quite simple really, although i didn't have time to make the eyes, nose and mouth. It is so much fun to make new and exiting shapes.

In the first class I learnt how to make a heart out of a basic circle shape. We were learning to make new shapes from the four shapes that we had. Then we had to make the heart multicoloured so we would learn how to make a shape with many colours. After learning how to make a heart in different colours, I had to try to make a more complex heart. I had to make it look more profecional like the one that Mr. Muntwyler made and had put up on the smart-bourd for me to try to make on my own. I had to use shadow to make it look more 3D. I think I did pretty well on making a 3D heart with shadow and light and I really liked making the background behing the heart too, because I tried to makit look like there was light coming from the heart by having a lighter colour around the heart and then making the colour get darker as it got further and further away from the heart. I tried my best and I think I did quite well on my first attempt to make a heart with shadow.

The goal was to get used to all the different tools on inkscape. I saw that there were only baic shapes like squares, circles, stars, and triangles on the tool bar. I had no idea how to make anything else other than those basic shapes. Then Mr. Muntwyler showd us hhow to make more complex shapes out of the basic shapes we had been given. It was so cool! I never would have thought that in just the second lecon I would be able to make a bone and even lips. I was so proud of myself.
